Poros est en réalité constitué de deux îles, Sphaeria, où se trouve la ville et le port, et Calauria.
Ces deux îles sont aujourd’hui reliées par un pont qui franchit l'isthme étroit.
Il semble qu'à l'origine, les deux îles étaient jointes au Péloponnèse, dont elles se seraient séparées à la fin de l'Antiquité.
La distance entre Poros et le continent étant si courte durant l’Antiquité que l’on pouvait la traverser à pied.

Poros est une petite île volcanique d'une grande beauté.
Elle est très près d’Athènes, et est une station balnéaire populaire à la fois parmi les Grecs et les étrangers.
De nombreux Athéniens y ont des résidences secondaires, ainsi l’île s’anime beaucoup le week-end.

Nous y séjournerons du 19 au 22 août prochain, aux Studios Ninetta :

En approchant de l'île de POROS, la ville semble construite sur l'eau ! Avant de prendre le bac, allons faire un petit tour à METHANA.

Les studios NINETTA se situent dans une résidence aux balcons fleuris et avec une piscine relativement calme grâce aux horaires restreints.

Le point culminant du village est la Tour de l'Horloge, indiquée en... chinois ( 鐘樓 ) ! De là-haut... ma Soeur Anne... ne vois-tu rien venir ?

Les baies de la côte sud-ouest sont bondées, mais la plage du FAROS à la pointe ouest est déserte ! Profitons-en sans modération...
